Bianca and Leon... I can't say enough fabulous things about this couple. We first met in September of 2020 for their engagement shoot, and I was so thrilled to then shoot their wedding on 4/9/2021 (especially since their wedding date moved THREE times!). Stick around to see how stunning their final photos turned out!
The day of their wedding, we started off at the JW Marriott in San Francisco for prep photos. We first did Bianca's prep photos with hair and makeup, then Leon's, then went on to arrange the details shots. I mean, how awesome is Leon's suit jacket?!
Afterwards, we moved onto photographing Leon with his family and Bianca with hers. I was honored to capture such special moments between Bianca and her sister helping to put on her dress, and her mother helping with her jewelry. These little parts of the day are what make for such impactful photos and lasting memories.
We then headed out of the hotel, into the car, and onto the Palace of Fine Arts for their first look. Here are a few pictures leading up to the big reveal...
Then came the first look. When Leon first laid eyes on Bianca, he was in awe of her. The tears were flowing and you could really see how much love there was between them.
They then took a few minutes to pray together before getting the ceremony started. Prayer has played such an important role in their relationship, so this was another very special moment to witness.
The ceremony was absolutely stunning - Leon and Bianca were surrounded by friends and family - aunties, cousins, friends, and siblings. Luckily, we were there earlier in the day before the Palace of Fine Arts is full of people, so the photos were just magnificent. Taking these photos through the laughter, the tears, and the joy was a wonderful experience.
Following the ceremony, we snapped a few family photos and couples portraits. I can't express enough how lovely this day was, and how unique their relationship is. Part of why I love what I do so much is because I enjoy showing people how beautiful they truly are. Especially when photographing people of color, it feels so amazing to deliver those final photos and capturing their joy and love on camera.
Over the last couple of months, Bianca and Leon have become much more than just a couple whose wedding I photographed - they have become great friends. Every time we'd connect, Bianca and I would talk about life, running a business, and THEN get to the wedding talk. I treasure our friendship and look forward to staying in touch.
